Peaking Ahead to Thursday's College Basketball Slate

Check out Pay's latest bracket projections.
Also check out the schedule for conference tournaments.
Last night's reactions are up too.

Tomorrow has quite a lineup. Here are some things to take note of (thanks Pay for the help):

Tubby Smith and Minnesota, Pay's third to last team in, are in action tomorrow against Northwestern, a team a little further down the bubble chart.

Here's the way I see each of these games ...

* VT/Miami is a play-out game

* MD/NC St is a play-out game for MD

* Providence needs a win or a fabulous showing in defeat to Louisville. They cannot have one great conference win, a good win in which the opposition was missing 2 starters, no quality OOC wins, and countless double-digit defeats.

* Minn/NW has the murkiest of scenarios. A win should get Minn in. NW needs 2 wins to be furthered in the discussion (I think they are in with a second non-home win against MSU ... looking way too far into the future).

* Michigan/Iowa is a play-out game for Michigan. If other teams choke, this may be a play-in game.

* Unless PSU loses to Indiana, they are in and/or wins ugly and lays an egg against Purdue

* Kansas State is IN with a second non-home win against Texas. Their weak RPI is bound to improve either way.

* If Arizona defeats Arizona State, they are IN.

* USC needs two wins and to hop Arizona to be in the discussion

* Florida/Kentucky may need 3 wins to advance to the NCAAs.
