Note of Interest: Coppin State is the first 20-loss team ever to make the field. Andy Katz of ESPN is reporting that Coppin State will face Mount St. Mary's in the play-in game; thus, avoiding a battle between the two teams with the lowest RPI, both of whom are Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Let's see how much things differ from our early Sunday Morning Bracket Projections.

Who cares about the 14 thru 16 seeds? They're going to lose anyway. Maybe Winthrop will win.

Coppin State is obviously in the play-in game. I hope the Committee does not pick Miss Valley State to play them. I'm tired of seeing the two historically Black conference teams playing the play-in game.

It's actually official that Coppin State will Mount St. Mary's in the play-in game, so your fatigue from watching the two HBCUs in the play-in game will be averted.

Herb Sendek gave a compelling argument for the development of their schedule.

19 or more PAC-10 games
3 games in Maui against opponents who were expected to perform better
1 game in the PAC-10/Big XII Challenge
1 game versus Xavier

24 games with little wiggle room. Needless to say, I expect a better schedule next year.

Good blog. Thanks for putting Wisconsin #2. They will be in the Final Four.

Oregon as a #9 seed???

I cannot believe that. I thought you were right in leaving them out.

I'm right there with that last statement. Oregon was our second team out and would have been the first team out had Georgia not stolen the final bid.

1-8 versus the PAC-10's top four teams and their best non-conference win being at Kansas State does not scream tournament team.
