NCAA Tournament Projections – Version 8.0
This week,
The big shock (to me) is Virginia Tech as a 4 seed. In my opinion, they have nowhere to go but down following their defeat at home to Clemson. They’re riding on their 6-2 record against the top 6 teams (not including them) in the ACC. If they do not impress in

How many wins will Florida St. need to get an at-large?
Florida St. should be in over Drexel. No matter which way you bend it, they're a 4th place team in a 13th place conference. They had their chance this weekend and they're done.
FSU didn't have Douglas for a few games and now he's back.
Kansas as a second seed, even below Florida? We will see after the Big 12 tournament.
Florida St./Clemson is an elimination game on Thursday. FSU may have work to do dependent upon the results of other conference tournaments. A second win will certainly get them in.
Drexel has a slightly better resume than FSU as we speak. That may change.
Great question on Kansas v. UF.
Florida has a higher RPI, SOS, more RPI top 50, a better win % against RPI top 50 teams. Kansas is a better road team, but many of those wins have been racked up in a relatively weak Big XII, and they didn't play Texas or A&M on the road in conference. Kansas is also 9-1 in their last 10 compared to 7-3. Of course, we know that the Jayhawks defeated a healthy Florida team on a neutral court back in November, but Florida had the impressive win overall by stomping on Ohio State. Overall, the nod goes to Florida.
LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) -In a March 3 story about the Texas-Kansas basketball game, The Associated Press reported erroneously that Kansas' 24-7 run to take a 59-58 lead coincided with an injury to Texas' Kevin Durant. Kansas led 71-65 when Durant left the game and was up 81-72 when he returned.
Durant scored 2 points in 9min. before the injury, lets be fair!
Color me misinformed by the AP.
UNC's body of work is still more impressive than that of Kansas at the moment, albeit by a small margin.
